Burlington VT newborn & family photographer/ Everett newborn
Doug and Kristen welcomed baby Everett (I am totally digging his name btw) in July. Everett joined his family that already included three older fur siblings, making this an amazing in home lifestyle newborn session to photograph. The dogs loved their new little brother and followed him around the whole time I was in the home. This sweet baby boy loved to be snuggled and wasn’t a huge fan of being swaddled. This was a fun session for me to photograph, not only is family super sweet they have great dramatic light in the master bedroom, where most of Everett’s photos took place.
Welcome earth side Everett! I am so honored to have been able to capture the first “official” photos of this fun family.

Vermont & New Hampshire newborn photographer / Newborn photos
For all of you that follow my work on a regular bases, you know that I LOVE newborn photography. After a few years growing my newborn photography career, I thought I would share my story and how “The Minimalistic Newborn” was born.
I started dabbling in newborn photography while I was pregnant our fifth child back in 2012. I spent the next few years learning the basics of newborn photography, safety and posing. Fast forward to 2015 I knew something was lacking in my work, I didn’t feel like an artist. At one point I thought about not offering newborn photography, I wasn’t happy with photographing babies in buckets or props. I knew I was drawn to timeless portraiture and simple posing. One night I decided to sell off my 99% of studio prop collection. I said goodbye to overstyled, over posed portraits and haven’t looked back. I now offer my clients in home sessions both a minimalistic style or lifestyle. I wanted to share a few of my favorite newborn images.
The past two years I found my voice as an artist, even being featured in print and on some of my favorite photography forums. All while embracing the style I want my work to be, all while giving my clients beautiful heirloom artwork they would treasure for a lifetime. Turning my clients stories, into my art.
Over the past year, I have started teaching and sharing my passion of minimalistic newborn photography to other photographers. I love helping others find their voice as an artist, I am very excited for this new chapter to grow.
I would be honored to capture such a special time in your life. Contact me today to start planning your custom newborn session.
Vermont Child & Family Photographer / Bethel Vermont / Two Potters
Over the past year I have gotten to know this wonderful family while our girls were in pre school together. This spring when Becca asked me to capture her sweet family on their beautiful Vermont homestead, I was jumping for joy inside. Becca and Nathan are the husband and wife team over at Two Potters , two artists I completely admire. It’s always a huge honor to be hired and trusted by other artists that you look up too. Over the past year year Becca and I have talked a lot about running a small business from home, raising children and our art. I am so lucky to live in area with so many talented artists. Go over and check out Becca and Nathan’s website featuring their stunning wood fired pottery, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Summer outdoor family sessions are so much fun and this one didn’t disappoint. I showed up to their home on a perfect Vermont summer night, a soft breeze with beautiful light. As we spent the evening together, I was able to witness how much love this family had for each other. Little miss Z, all spunky and sweet loved her photo taken and little brother followed her every move. After sessions like these, I am always reminded how lucky I am to be able to capture these moments for my clients. Moments when your babies want to snuggle, nurse and run around playing in the garden. I know they will treasure these photos for a lifetime.

Vermont newborn photography/Vermont newborn sessions
Sweet Peyton slept like a dream for her newborn session, I didn’t see her eyes the whole time. I never know how baby will sleep or pose, so I just follow the direction of my littlest clients. Little P was sleepy so I took more of my “Minimalistic Newborn” style approach for her session. There is something magical about my “Minimalistic Newborn” sessions, the light and shadows, mixed with the clean bright white backdrop and moody black and whites. These sessions are mix between modern and timeless. I know P’s family will proudly display her portraits in their home for years to come.
I am still booking the remaining of my 2017 newborn sessions, both in home lifestyle and minimalistic. Contact me today to plan your custom newborn portraits session.

Newborn family portraits / Woodstock Vermont/ The S family
Sweet Henry’s mother reached out wanting an in home newborn and family session, and I was thrilled. As much as I love my “Minimalistic Newborn” sessions, I have a soft spot for documentary lifestyle portraits. Little Henry at three weeks slept like a champ, I didn’t see his eyes but for just a moment the whole time I was there. There is something so magical photographing a family in their own home, it feels real and honest. My dream is for my clients to look back on their portraits and cherish those moments that I was able to freeze in time.
I am always so honored to be invited in to a clients home, while capturing such a special time in their lives. I am now booking into October with my family and newborn sessions. I do have a few more sessions available, and I would love to capture YOUR family.

Vermont newborn photographer/ Corbin’s one month old session
Vermont newborn photographer.
Corbin at four weeks old was a little older than my normal newborn session, but he was still so sleepy. He has the chubbiest cheeks, longest eyelashes, and a beautiful head of dark brown hair. His whole family is over the moon with him and I don’t blame them. There is nothing better than spending a cold Vermont day in my tiny studio while photographing (and possibly a lot of baby snuggles) a sweet new baby, with heat blasting and drinking tea with mom.
Update sweet Corbin’s photo on Pinterest is a hit.
I specialize in minimalistic newborn portraiture and now booking the remaining of my spring newborn sessions. I offer a completely custom session to each client, whether it is a newborn session in my newly remodeled Vermont studio. Or an in home newborn session in Vermont, New Hampshire, ( New England) and New York City.

When sweet baby D’s mother contacted me about an upcoming in home lifestyle newborn session, I was thrilled. I find it very special when clients want to capture their newborn’s first days in their own homes. There is something so calming about in home lifestyle session and the E family session was no different. What a wonderful family, by the end of the day it felt like I had known them for years. The “E” family’s home had the most amazing natural light and their beautiful old farmhouse was the perfect backdrop. Little man did not make a peep for his whole session and I didn’t see his eyes once. It was a true joy to photograph their sweet new baby boy.
I was blown away when little man’s photo won me a “Top sixteen of 16” from www.hellodearphotographer.com , a complete honor from one of my favorite photography community and forums.
2016 A YEAR IN REVIEW.
Vermont, New England, NYC photographer.
As 2016 comes to a close, I sit here and look back over the year. This year was good to me in many ways, both personally and business wise. I am continued to be blessed with a healthy family and wonderful friends. Five children that despite my best efforts to keep little, they continue to grow.
2016 brought over 60 sessions, my busiest year yet. This year was also the first of many changes; a new business name, new website and blog. This year also brought my first time to have my worked featured and in print, a dream I have had since I started working. I was lucky enough to cross paths with photography community that felt like home. I stumbled across LooksLikeFilm late 2015 and I knew it a community that I wanted to be a part of. Early 2016 I started posting my newborn work on their Facebook forum, and I am proud to say I have been lucky enough to have 5 Daily Features over the year. When the opportunity came to attend their NYC workshop, to meet and learn from some my favorite photographers from across the world. It was a no brainer that I had to go. In October I spent the week back in NYC with a group of 50 photographers from across the country and the world. To say that that week was life changing is understatement. I was reminded who I was an artist, what was important to as a business owner, and where I wanted to take my career.
As I say a bittersweet goodbye to 2016, I am reminded how wonderful this year was. I look forward to 2017, with any luck and hard work this year will be as good. Until next year!!!!
