Vermont family photographer/Carpenter family summer session

Vermont Family Photographer. Serving all of Burlington, Stowe, Woodstock, Upper Valley Vermont and Hanover New Hampshire.

Summer is that special time of year where I am finally able to get outside and start photographing my favorite past clients and meeting new ones. I kicked off the first summer weekend with this beautiful family. I have been photographing the sweet Carpenters for over three years now, and each session gets better and better. The Carpenters are always up for an adventure with their portraits, which makes my photographer heart so happy. For this session we went river side, while the boys played.

For me Photography is freezing a moment time, for my clients. As a mama I know how fast children grown, and how important to capture this fleeting time. I am booking the last few summer sessions and booking peak fall color. I would love to capture YOUR family’s moments. Contact me today to start planning your custom family portrait session.

Sweet Peyton slept like a dream for her newborn session, I didn’t see her eyes the whole time. I never know how baby will sleep or pose, so I just follow the direction of my littlest clients. Little P was sleepy so I took more of my “Minimalistic Newborn” style approach for her session. There is something magical about my “Minimalistic Newborn” sessions, the light and shadows, mixed with the clean bright white backdrop and moody black and whites. These sessions are mix between modern and timeless. I know P’s family will proudly display her portraits in their home for years to come.

I am still booking the remaining of my 2017 newborn sessions, both in home lifestyle and minimalistic. Contact me today to plan your custom newborn portraits session.

Sweet Henry’s mother reached out wanting an in home newborn and family session, and I was thrilled. As much as I love my “Minimalistic Newborn” sessions, I have a soft spot for documentary lifestyle portraits. Little Henry at three weeks slept like a champ, I didn’t see his eyes but for just a moment the whole time I was there. There is something so magical photographing a family in their own home, it feels real and honest. My dream is for my clients to look back on their portraits and cherish those moments that I was able to freeze in time.

I am always so honored to be invited in to a clients home, while capturing such a special time in their lives. I am now booking into October with my family and newborn sessions. I do have a few more sessions available, and I would love to capture YOUR family.

If I was going to categorize my style for family sessions it would be a mix photojournalist and lifestyle. I love tons of negative space and close ups with non-tradiontal crops, images that tell a story and capture emotions.  I always have a few goals for each family session I photograph. My main goal is forgetting about posed family session and really capturing the in between moments of my clients lives. These are the moments I know my clients  will cherish long after their children are grown. I want my clients to look back on their session with fond memories and know we froze a moment in time.

This session was near and dear to me, as I have been photographing this family since the twins were one year old.  Baby sister was due any day, so we knew this was an extra special session as it was the last session as a family of four.  We knew that the beautiful apple orchard an early summer Vermont night would be the perfect backdrop for their family/maternity session.

I can’t believe this family session has taken me so long to blog. This was my sixth family session with Oliver and his parents and this has to be my favorite to date. We spent a lovely Vermont summer evening down by the river, while Oliver played in the water, throwing rocks and snuggling with his mom.

I look forward to all of my upcoming summer family sessions. I still have a limited amount of summer sessions available open for June and August. If you are interested in booking my dates, feel free to contact for more information.

Vermont newborn photographer/ Corbin’s one month old session

Vermont newborn photographer.

Corbin at four weeks old was a little older than my normal newborn session, but he was still so sleepy.  He has the chubbiest cheeks, longest eyelashes, and a beautiful head of dark brown hair. His whole family is over the moon with him and I don’t blame them.  There is nothing better than spending a cold Vermont day in my tiny studio while photographing (and possibly a lot of baby snuggles) a sweet new baby, with heat blasting and drinking tea with mom.

Update sweet Corbin’s photo on Pinterest is a hit.

I specialize in minimalistic newborn portraiture and now booking the remaining of my spring newborn sessions. I offer a completely custom session to each client, whether it is a newborn session in my newly remodeled Vermont studio. Or an in home  newborn session in Vermont, New Hampshire, ( New England) and New York City.

New York City Newborn photographer/ Luna’s newborn session

Vermont, New England, and NYC newborn photographer.

I traveled from snowy Vermont down to New York City for sweet Luna’s newborn session. Baby girl did not disappoint, she slept the whole time while swaddled and wide awake when not.  Big Brother B was wonderful with his new baby sister, and rocked his part of the session.

I loved every moment of this session and can’t wait to see Luna grow, until next time NYC.

When sweet baby D’s mother contacted me about an upcoming in home lifestyle newborn session, I was thrilled. I find it very special when clients want to capture their newborn’s first days in their own homes. There is something so calming about in home lifestyle session and the E family session was no different. What a wonderful family, by the end of the day it felt like I had known them for years. The “E” family’s home had the most amazing natural light and their beautiful old farmhouse was the perfect backdrop. Little man did not make a peep for his whole session and I didn’t see his eyes once. It was a true joy to photograph their sweet new baby boy.

I  was blown away when little man’s photo won me a “Top sixteen of 16” from www.hellodearphotographer.com , a complete honor from one of my favorite photography community and forums.

2016 A year in review / Vermont, New England, NYC photographer

2016 A YEAR IN REVIEW.

Vermont, New England, NYC photographer.

As 2016 comes to a close, I sit here and look back over the year. This year was good to me in many ways, both personally and business wise. I am continued to be blessed with a healthy family and wonderful friends. Five children that despite my best efforts to keep little, they continue to grow.

2016 brought over 60 sessions, my busiest year yet. This year was also the first of many changes; a new business name, new website and blog. This year also brought my first time to have my worked featured and in print, a dream I have had since I started working. I was lucky enough to cross paths with photography community that felt like home. I stumbled across LooksLikeFilm late 2015 and I knew it a community that I wanted to be a part of. Early 2016 I started posting my newborn work on their Facebook forum, and I am proud to say I have been lucky enough to have 5 Daily Features over the year. When the opportunity came to attend their NYC workshop,  to meet and learn from some my favorite photographers from across the world. It was a no brainer that I had to go. In October I spent the week back in NYC with a group of 50 photographers from across the country and the world. To say that that week was life changing is understatement. I was reminded who I was an artist, what was important to as a business owner, and where I wanted to take my career.

As I say a bittersweet goodbye to 2016, I am reminded how wonderful this year was. I look forward to 2017, with any luck and hard work this year will be as good. Until next year!!!!

xoxo,

Kristy
